At Atomix, we're rebuilding the infrastructure behind UK property lending. We are seeking an experienced Product Designer to join our Product team and help shape the experience of our platform as it grows.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end user experience of a platform used by lenders, brokers, borrowers and solicitors. You will rarely be handed a finished brief. Instead, you will bring structure to complex, ambiguous problems and turn them into clear, intuitive experiences. As part of a small, growing product team, you will be comfortable wearing different hats and taking on product responsibilities as they arise, alongside your core design work.
This role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the world.
In this role you will:
- Own the end-to-end product experience. Create user flows, wireframes and reliable prototypes that turn complex lending processes into clear, confident interfaces.
- Work with product, lender partners and other third party stakeholders to understand their needs, and translate them into clear requirements and design solutions.
- Map complex processes that involve many different users from end to end, keeping multiple user journeys coherent and consistent.
- Think beyond individual features to the wider platform, using journey maps and service blueprints to shape how it scales.
- Design for data-dense, high-stakes screens. Dashboards, pipelines, tables, forms and document workflows where users make financial decisions. Clarity, accuracy and trust come before decoration.
- Take sole ownership of the design system end to end. You set its direction and standards, and evolve it by reusing and extending components so new journeys are efficient to build.
- Build accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA) in from the start.
- Work closely with the Product Manager to define the product, leading on design, flows and the overall user experience.
- Work day to day with engineering to bring designs to life, and keep track of delivery so that what ships matches the intended experience.
- Run usability testing with users and partners, and use analytics and feedback to refine the platform.
- Present and document design decisions clearly for founders, product & engineers and commercial stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- 4+ years in product or UI/UX design, with a portfolio showing thoughtful solutions to complex problems.
- Strong product acumen: you understand how requirements are shaped, work is scoped and priorities are set, and you bring that thinking to your design work.
- Experience in lending or financial services is highly desirable. You understand, or can quickly get to grips with, core lending concepts such as interest rates, LTV, drawdowns and repayment.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability: you grasp financial logic quickly and present it accurately.
- Experience designing for multiple user types across a single process.
- Expert Figma skills, experience with design systems, and the ability to produce designs quickly, using AI tools effectively to explore ideas and iterate on feedback to align stakeholders.
- Comfort with ambiguity, strong ownership and excellent written and verbal communication.
- An understanding of how front ends are built, and the judgement to design reusable components and scalable tokens.
- Ability to work UK (GMT) hours.
Bonus if you have:
- UK property finance experience: bridging, specialist mortgages, auction or development finance.
- Regulated journeys: FCA Consumer Duty, affordability, disclosures, KYC/AML and audit expectations.
- Marketplace design experience: Multi-sided platforms with matching or comparison capabilities.
- White-label or embeddable products that partners run under their own brand.
- Data visualisation: clear, honest charts and dashboards for financial data.
- Project management skills - planning, prioritising and running design work across multiple stakeholders.
- Technical fluency: hands-on front-end experience, or prototyping with AI tools such as Claude, Cursor or Figma Make, with good judgement on where they help.
What we offer:
- Full ownership of the design process and design system.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial team where your ideas directly shape the product.
- A high-impact, technically challenging platform in a fast-evolving sector.
- A role where design thinking and systems modelling are central to success - not an afterthought.
How we assess:
- Introduction conversation - your background, what you have designed and built, and how you think about users.
- Portfolio review - walk us through two or three projects end-to-end: the problem, your process, the trade-offs, and what you built yourself.
- Practical exercise - a small, time-boxed design challenge.
- Team conversation - collaboration with engineering and product ownership, and how you work asynchronously.
